But I’m gonna need to make a huge fuckin’ statement for her to see I’m being real. That I want her for who she is and that I’m not using her. I need to show her I can be more than an asshole.
Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I find Neo’s name and shoot him a text ordering him to go get what I want done. I also told him to have it done by tomorrow when I got back. I’ve been gone too fuckin’ long and missed not just Rachel but Corinne and Luca as well.
How in such a short amount of time, all three of them could consume my everything is beyond me. Yet in my heart I know it’s right.
When I get back home, I’m claiming what’s mine, and I’ll do it right this time.
“You ready to head home tomorrow?” Tracker asks as he hands Kayla one of her cookies sitting on the table.
“Yep, thinking we leave first thing in the morning getting to the clubhouse by noon. We’ll have church tomorrow evening and see what all Nerd has for us,” I say firmly. After we first got here, Tracker had gone back to the clubhouse, only returning a couple days ago. Neither of us likes leaving the clubhouse for long periods of time without the other in charge. Sure, we have trusted our brothers, but after what Jackal did, we decided to change things up.
“Good, I gotta get to Dolly’s Playhouse and make sure everything goes smoothly,” Tracker grumbles.
“Brother, Amethyst can handle the management position,” I say, holding back my grin.
“I don’t give a damn if she can handle it or not. It’s a matter of principle that those men will eat her up. It’s why she should have just stayed on the fuckin’ stage,” he states, clenching his fist.
Shaking my head at him, I bounce Kayla on my knee, and she starts laughing, throwing her hands up.
“Has Rach answered any of your calls?” Tracker asks, mentioning the elephant in the room.
“Nope, but we're goin’ home tomorrow. I’ll fix things when we get there,” I state firmly as I lock eyes with my VP.
“I hope you do, and I hope she listens. Whenever Rach had come out of the room, she would do her best to hide the defeated expression. However, I could see it in her eyes. You don’t make it right with her, I’ll beat your ass. Besides the club, she’s the only family I have left,” Tracker says. His dad died a few years ago, and his mom did the same as Horse’s mom did.
“Promise you, brother, I’ll be making things right the moment we get there.” He must see the truth in what I’ve said since the biggest smile crosses his face, and he nods his head.
“You know I’m goin’ to enjoy watching her put you through the wringer,” Tracker chuckles.
The vibration of my phone distracts me from giving Tracker a response as I see it’s Shadow calling me.
Swiping the screen, I put the phone to my ear. “What’s up, Shadow?” I ask.
“Prez, we got a situation here, and you’re not gonna like it,” Shadow growls.
“Want to elaborate on what the situation is,” I demand as I stand and walk toward my son with Kayla and JC, who’d been sitting next to me.
“Rachel’s gone. She asked Tiny to watch the twins for her for a little bit so she could take a nap. I don’t know how she did it, but she evaded being seen on any of the cameras except for one, and that was right as she was getting in the passenger seat of a woman’s car. Nerd ran the plates, and we know who it belongs to. But what’s worse is she’s going back to Greensville,” Shadow says.
I barely have time to hand my granddaughter over to my son before I lose my shit. When I get my hands on that woman, I'm going to wear her ass out.
“She left a note for you and Tracker next to your bed.”
“Grab Neo and bring the note with you, meet us in Greensville,” I ordered before disconnecting. “Bear, I need you and Momma B back at the clubhouse asap. Tracker, Blaze, and Coyote, you’re with me,” I roar as I head for the door.
“Pops, you need me?” Horse asks as he follows me outside.
“No, son, I got this. You stay with your ol’ lady and kids. I have my own ol’ lady to go get before she ends up doing something stupid,” I say as I straddle my bike. I don’t have to look up to see the shocked expression on Horse’s face.
But right now, I don’t have time to explain. Not when I know exactly what she’s going to try to do, and it has nothing to do with custody. I’d seen the look in her eyes when she’d told Tracker she just needed him to watch over Luca and Corinne.
There’s nothing a parent wouldn’t do for a child they love, including taking a life.

Rachel
“Are you sure about this?” Milley asks nervously as we make our way back to Greensville. It'd taken me three weeks to come up with a plan for how to get away from here. Three weeks of having to put up with the scrutiny of most of the clubwhores, like Cherry Pie and Peaches.
Cherry Pie, however, is the worst of them all. The bitch had the nerve to tell me all about her escapades with Stoney and anyone else he brought into it, including going into detail about the time he fucked her and the Prez of the Iron Vex MC.
I didn’t even know a woman could be a Prez of a club, but I think it’s pretty badass even though I don’t think I’d want to meet the woman. From the way Cherry Pie put it, this Boss chick must mean something to Stoney. And if that’s the case, it’s a good thing I won’t be around to see them together.
Not after everything he said. I thought I’d be furious about what he had Shadow do to me, but the more I think about it, I realize in my head it was Stoney’s hands I envisioned. Shadow had been nothing more than an extension to Stoney’s voice as he would put it ‘giving me my punishment.’ No, the worst was telling me that I was his to use as he pleased, and he could do as he wanted. He may not have said it completely like that, but I can read between the lines I’m not an idiot.
“Earth to Rachel,” Milley snaps, bringing me out of my thoughts and back to now.
“Yeah, Milley, I have to do this. Not just for myself but Luca and Corinne. I don’t want Luca to grow up being like Lucien or for Corinne to be treated as a whore,” I say.
“Okay, but why couldn’t you just get your cousin to help?” she asks, all the while navigating her car on the highway heading for the interstate.
“I can’t ask them to do anything of the sort. The club doesn’t need my drama added to their own,” I mutter. I may not know what that said drama is, but I do have eyes and have seen some of the members walking around filled with tension. You could see it in the way they walk as well as the air surrounding them.
“You know I love you, Ray Ray, but this is suicidal what you're doing. I mean seriously, are you really going to just up and walk into the lion’s den expecting to kill the father of your children.” Milley says sarcastically.
“I don’t intend to just up and walk into that nasty clubhouse. I’m going to have him come to the house,” I state my intentions.
“And what happens when he brings someone with him like Torben or Raynor. You think you can outsmart not only the VP of Lucifer's Heretics but also the Prez and Sergeant at Arms? I don’t think so,” she mutters.
“Don’t worry Milley. I’ve got this I promise you. Just do me a favor tomorrow head back to Stonewall Mills and start over there. Greensville has been painful enough for the both of us. You need to escape this place,” I murmured. Milley isn’t one to talk about her past but from what she’s told me it’s not good and it doesn’t help she’s connected to Torben. How? I don’t even know. All I know is he’s Lucien’s uncle and a complete and utter prick.
“I’m not leaving without you, but we’ll talk more when we get to my place,” Milley states, ending the conversation to which I’m grateful for.
Leaning my head back against the headrest, I close my eyes. I allow myself to think about the last few years of my life. The images flash through my mind as if I were having an out-of-body experience, seeing the naïve girl I used to be.
Walking into the clubhouse, I didn’t know what to think. My frie
nds from the softball team immediately ditch me as they find some biker to latch onto. I don’t know whose club I’m in, but I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to be here. Not with who my cousin and uncle are. I might not be associated with the club, no thanks to my mom, but my uncle and cousin adore me.
“You look lost, darlin’. Anything I can do for you?” I whip around to face the man attached to the voice, and I swear my jaw about drops to the floor.
Holy shit! I don’t think I’ve ever seen another man as gorgeous as this man in front of me.
Well, besides Stoney, but he’s just a schoolgirl’s crush. Stoney will never see me as a woman. This man in front of me, though, is another story. The way he scans my body, I feel my face heat with embarrassment when he stops on my boobs.
“I’m taking by the silence you are lost and need assistance.” The man chuckles as he steps closer to me. “Name’s Lucien. How about you let me buy you a drink?”
“Umm . . . I guess I can have a drink. My friends kinda ditched me after we got here,” I say nervously as I lift my hand up to swipe a stray hair out of my face, only it didn’t stay.
Lucien lifts a hand up and does the same thing but leaves his hand there, palming my cheek. “What’s your name, babe?” he asks quietly. I can’t help but become ensnared by his beautiful eyes.
“Rachel,” I whisper as I lick my lips.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you. How about that drink?” he suggests.
“I’m not twenty-one,” I say stupidly.
Chuckling, he drops his hand from the side of my face to wrap it around my waist. “Don’t care about age here, darlin’. As long as you're over eighteen, it’s all good,” he says, tilting his head down to hold my gaze.
“Oh, okay, but I should probably not drink. I’ll have to drive back to campus.” God, can I be any more stupid? Just shoot me now.
“That’s cool. How about we go sit by the bonfire? It’s quieter out there, and we can talk,” Lucien says, and I nod my head in response, feeling overwhelmed.
The rest of the night and well into the morning, Lucien and I had an amazing time.
For the next six months, that’s what we did a lot of the time when we were together. Well, that and making out with some heavy groping. When I decided to give him my virginity, he seemed to become more protective of me. Lucien would have a prospect watching over me whenever he wasn’t with me. I thought it was a little too much, but I knew from my uncle that bikers were protective and did what they wanted to.
Another six months later, Lucien and I were living together. I knew he wouldn’t be home every night because he would have to do things for the club, and I didn’t want to seem like some cling-on.
Lucien always made it to my games. Rain or shine, if it was a home game, he was there. Even some of the ones that were too far away, he’d be there as well. I couldn’t be any happier having such a supportive boyfriend. However, I was wrong. The day I graduated, he proposed to me.
Everyday seemed to be perfect and unreal.
But as they say, everything that seems perfect is never the case.
Lucien didn’t want a long engagement, and neither did I, so we’d set a date for a month later. But the day before we were getting married, I found out I was pregnant, and, in my excitement, I went to the clubhouse to share my news with him.
Stepping into the clubhouse, I froze right inside the door. My heart was pounding so hard, I was scared it would fly out of my chest. Standing in front of me was none other than Lucien and Raynor, both having sex with Jinx, one of the women who is always hanging around the clubhouse.
Too dumbfounded to do anything but watch, I stare at the man who claims to love me as he fucks another woman. Right as he comes, he looks up and meets my eyes and smirks. A second later, he pulls out of Jinx, shoves his dick back in his pants, and walks to the bar. Not to me, but the bar. I’d rushed out of there so quickly after that, going home thinking this was all a mistake and he’d come after me.
Of course, he didn’t. Lucien didn’t get home until well after midnight, drunk off his ass.
“Why did you do it?” I asked.
“Babe, you ain’t the only pussy I take. Don’t think it’s all that special. Besides, after tomorrow, you and I will be tied together just the way we were meant to be. That way, you can stop fuckin’ acting like I hung the moon,” he says nonchalantly.
“But I thought you loved me,” I say, tears filling my eyes.
“Open your eyes, Rachel. It’s the way of my world. Welcome to it, because from now on, you do everything I fuckin’ tell you. You jump when I say, and you ride my dick when I tell you to. Hell, if I want to share you with Raynor, I fuckin’ will. You belong to me, bitch, so you best get with the program.” He laughs.
Shaking my head, I turn away from him as I ball my hands in fury. “I don’t belong to anyone but myself. I’m a human being, and I don’t want any of this.”
I didn’t see the hit coming until it was too late. Lucien backhands one side of my face. “Don’t even think about leaving me, Rachel,” he sneers before backhanding my other cheek. “You belong to me, I own you, and I’ll be damned if I let you think otherwise.”
“No, you don’t. I’m leaving, and don’t try to stop me,” I scream as I head for the bedroom to pack my things.
Lucien followed behind me, slamming the bedroom door as soon as he entered the room. No words are said as he grabs me by the wrist and slams me against the wall, forcing me to bang my head. Lifting a hand to my throat, he squeezes. “Told you already, don’t even think about leaving me.”
Letting go of my wrist, he throws me over to the bed, where he rips the clothes from my body and sinks inside me. The brutal thrust he uses causes me to scream in pain.
“Shut the fuck up and take what I give you, Rachel. You agreed to marry me, and this is me, not that image I painted in your head,” he growls right before he comes.
Leaning over me, he grabs the cuffs he keeps there for when we’d done the kinkier things he’d wanted to teach me.
Lucien left me there for a week straight, chained to the bed.
After the truth came out, Lucien decided he didn’t need to marry me to keep me, which was fine with me since it would make it that much easier to run from him when I got the chance.
Two months into my new reality, I had no choice but to tell Lucien I was pregnant. He hadn’t been too happy at first, but then it was like a switch flickered in him. All of a sudden, the Lucien I fell in love with was back, taking me to the doctor and doing things with me. When we found out we were having twins, he had the biggest grin on his face.
Maybe Lucien was going through something when he’d gotten so mad and hit me. Then again, who’s to say he’s not trying to pull the wool over my eyes.
Nope, not the case. The day I went into labor, I called his phone. When he answered, moans and groans could be heard in the background. “What?” he demanded.
“I . . . I’m . . . the babies are coming,” I stammered.
“Well, about damn time,” he grunts. “I’ll send the prospect to take you to the hospital. I’ll be there when I’m done fuckin’.” He had disconnected before I could tell him not to worry about coming to the hospital.
Lucien didn’t show up until hours after the babies were born. I’d been smart enough to go ahead and name them, giving them my last name instead of Lucien’s. That earned me a slap across the face.
“Told you, Rachel, you belong to me, same as those kids do. You don’t make decisions like you did,” he growls.
I didn’t say a word to him. Let him be pissed at me. At least I got to name my children what I wanted to. When I first held them in my arms, I knew I had to get out and do it as soon as possible.
As the weeks went by, Lucien was barely around, not wanting to hear Luca’s and Corinne’s screams. Which I was grateful for. The less time I spent in his presence, the better.
Ten weeks after the babies were born, I overheard Lucien on the phone wi
th his dad, Titan, talking about his plans to transfer to the Lucifer’s Heretics clubhouse in Kansas and that he was bringing all of us with him. I don't think so. Then he said the most horrifying words he could— “Find a buyer for the brat of a daughter. She’ll pull in a good chunk of money.” His laughter caused me to flinch.
Before he disconnected with his dad, he spotted me eavesdropping. “I was just going to see if you’d go get some formula for Luca and Corinne,” I stutter.
Lucien doesn’t say a word as he begins to beat me, slamming his fists into my body. As I crumble to the floor, he kicks me in the ribs repeatedly. “Don’t ever fuckin’ listen to my conversations, bitch,” he growls.
“Rachel, wake up, we’re here,” Milley says, but something about her tone seems off.
“You okay,” I ask before clearing my throat.
Nodding vigorously, she puts the car in park. “I’m sorry, Ray Ray,” she whimpers just as my door is thrown open, and I’m snatched out of the car.
I come face to face with not Lucien but someone far worse— Raynor.
“Welcome back, Rachel. Where’re my cousin’s son and brat of a daughter?”

Rachel
“Wh . . . Wha . . . What are you doing here, Raynor?” I stammer nervously as fear seeps through my pores. Raynor may be hot, but he’s always given me the creeps, though he stayed at a distance because of Lucien.
“I’m here on Lucien’s behalf,” Raynor sneers, grabbing ahold of me. “Milley, get your ass to the clubhouse. Torben is waiting for you.”
“I’m so sorry, Ray Ray. I didn’t have a choice,” Milley whispers before getting back in her car.
I want to tell her it’s okay, but Raynor doesn’t give me a chance. I can’t be mad at her even if I wanted to, she’d tried to warn me in her own way. Milley had asked if I’d been sure about this when she’d picked me up, then went on to ask what if Lucien brought Torben or Raynor with him. That should have been a red light for me right there.
