To my husband who is always supporting me throughout this journey.
Acknowledgments
My Husband and Kiddos – To my husband who has always been the one to support our family. If he didn’t encourage me to follow my dreams and give them a chance, I wouldn’t be where I am now. He’s put up with my ramblings and throwing ideas around no matter how annoying I can be about it. Also have to be thankful for him being there to send me inspirational music when I need it most. My kiddos, who find what I do, as they put it, cool and want to know how many words I was able to get in each day. They also like to try and help me come up with plot ideas. Some are just as wicked as my own. I also enjoy the fact they come to me when they need help with finding things wrong in their own work wanting to understand better in how things are supposed to be done.
My Brothers – No matter how much we go through, they’re always there for me. One may not be here in body but is always around in spirit. My oldest brother for being proud of me and not having a problem saying it.
My Betas – You guys rock! Thank you all for being the first to read the stories as they come alive. It means the world to me. Especially when you all start to get mad. That’s when I know I’m doing something right. And in doing so pushing me to keep going with all the different plots that form in my head. I’m thankful to you all for being ready and willing to read and give your input.
My Knox Publishing People – If it wasn’t for you all being helpful and encouraging when I need it, I don’t know what I’d do without you all. You’re all wonderful in your own right and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The biggest thing I’ve got to say I’m thankful for most, is the fact I’m able to be around those who understand the way my mind works. Each and every one of you have earned a special place in my life, one way or another.
Liz – My sister from another mister, my best friend and Publisher/Boss. You’re my go to when I need it. If not for you, I don’t know if I’d ever be where I am today with my writing. Thank you for always pushing me and encouraging me.
Diane – Without you taking everything on for me, I wouldn’t be able to focus the way I do on my writing. Thank you for everything you do. You’re not just my PA, you’re my friend and I couldn’t ask for a better friend than you.
Kim and Jackie – I know I’m a pain in the rear; however, you both put up with me. Thank you both for taking on all of my work. I love the fact I work with you both on each of them. Also, the fact when it comes to something I miss, you help me understand how to correct it, so it doesn’t happen again.

Broken Prize
Cracked down the middle
Shatters into pieces
A prize is a prize
Yet when broken apart
Do you throw it away?
Or put it to the side
Forget about the one that’s broken
Move on to the new and shiny
Nothing is as it seems
Lies and deceit are all you see
Cracks and shattering are never enough
The heart can only take so much
Can you see the prize in front of your eyes?
Don’t forget the broken
And move to the new and shiny
Lies and deceit are a part of you
Shiny and new the prize will haunt you
Cracked and shattered are the one you always look back to
Broken inside the prize is still with you

Prologue
Venom
Three Months Ago
Can this day get any more fuckin’ worse? It started with a phone call from a number I knew but I didn’t answer for a reason. Why’s she calling me now? I don’t know but I sure as hell don’t feel like talking to her.
Not now and honestly, I don’t think I ever want to speak to her again.
I’m already in a mood to draw blood and now following my brothers into a dangerous situation after Cane’s ol’ lady, Parker, had been kidnapped from an ambush. Harley, the woman I claim as my little sister, is with her and that shit pisses me off. Both women have been through a fuck of a lot. However, this could be a major setback for Harley after she’s come so far.
Cane stands next to me and I can feel the fury radiating off of him. “Keep it together, brother,” I say. We need him to stay calm for now.
“She’s gonna be okay,” Whip mutters from the other side of Cane.
Our VP pulls out his phone, reads whatever is on the screen, and nods. “Vi’s inside and in a location filled with a container of women. Said one of them didn’t look too good. There’s about thirty men total inside. Most of them were taking advantage of the women.”
Oh fuck.
This isn’t going to be good.
Not one bit.
What we’re facing is similar enough to what I’ve dealt with for years.
Blaze gains our attention by clicking his flash like two times. Glancing at him, he holds up his phone. “Raven’s saying she’s got eyes on Lavina, who’s just stepped out of a room Chigger dragged Parker from following one of his men. Lavina has none other than Cherry and Peaches with her and both of them are naked and on leashes heading in the opposite direction.”
Fuckin’ sick and twisted bitch. She deserves a bullet to the head.
“I’m goin’ after my woman,” Cane announces.
“Agreed. Take Venom with you, the rest of us will go after the others. This shit ends here,” our Prez, Stoney, declares.
“What about Lavina?” Ranger asks, his fist clenching at his sides. I know the man wants the stupid bitch for what she helped do to Harlow.
“We’ll deal with her later. Right now, the task at hand is getting Parker to safety and whoever these other women are,” Stoney states.
I couldn’t agree more. The women who were being abused and Parker need to take precedence. We’ll get the bitch at some point.
I pull my gun from its holster and follow after my brother in the direction Raven went. The sounds of a woman’s screams penetrate the air and I hope to God it’s not my brother’s woman.
Sticking to the shadows, Cane and I silently make it through the building coming up on where Chigger and Cane’s woman, Parker, are.
“Whatever, Parker, now shut up.” Dude is just asking for a bullet.
“No, I won’t shut up,” Parker yells, sticking up for herself. I’d grin if it weren’t the wrong fuckin’ time for her to be doing something like this.
“You fucking bitch. You want to fight me. Go ahead, see if you can get past me. I’ll kill you first. Fuck the money I could get with you. There’s dime a dozen women who are worth far more than you. Maybe I’ll take the other women who belong to those scumbags you want to be a whore to,” Chigger yells.
Glancing over to Cane I meet his gaze as the two of us sneak up on the bastard. How this asshole could be in charge of anything, is ridiculous.
Chigger takes a step toward Parker causing her to step back. She’s cornered with nowhere to go since there’s only a wall right behind her.
“I’m not an object to be sold, nor am I a whore. I’m a person who only wanted to live her own life. Not to be dictated to by her brother,” Parker screams, terror filling her gaze. She’s scared but doesn’t want to give up.
Chigger goes to hit Parker and Cane moves first, placing his gun to the side of the asshole’s fuckin’ head. “Take another step toward my woman and see if I don’t put a bullet in your head right fuckin’ here,” Cane snarls, more than ready to blow the dude’s head off.
Moving around them I slip around them to check on Parker. Seeing her slide to the ground and pass out is enough cause for alarm in my book. Considering everything she’s been through today. A wreck, being kidnapped, and from the looks of it, she’s been beaten to a bloody pulp.
“Turn around, Chigger, and face me,” Cane orders.
Reaching down to Parker, I notice right away she’s not looking good and needs help asap. “Cane, brother, we need to get your ol’ lady to a hospital,” I mutter, getting my brother’s attention.
“I know,” he grumbles, his eyes still locked on Chigger.
“No, brother, we need to get her there now,” I declare, needing him to understand the urgency in my voice.
“Take care of Chigger, Cane. Venom and I will get her to the hospital. You join us after you finish here,” Raven says, the woman appears out of thin air. Swear to fuck the woman is the same as the fuckin’ bird she’s named after. “Finish this for her. She needs to know she has nothing to fear and the only person who can do that is you, I’ll stay with her until you get there.”
I lift Parker into my arms and stand to my feet. The woman is light as a feather, needing to put on some weight. “I’ll be there as soon as we’re done here. Watch her,” Cane says, meeting my gaze.
“I’ve got her, brother. She’ll be okay.” I nod and follow Raven out.
The two of us head for a car out the front. Nothing about this whole scenario tonight sits well with
me. I only hope what’s heading our way is something we can handle, and it doesn’t cause us to lose anyone else.
Chapter One
Amaya
“Tell me why I’m doing this again?” I mutter to myself as I look down at the little one lying on my bed sound asleep.
Lincoln, he’s the reason why I’m packing up my entire life. I never expected to be a parent. Or I hadn’t planned on it considering everything, but I’ll do anything for him. The little boy looks so much like his father with his dark hair and beautiful hazel-colored eyes. Shoot, he even carries himself at three the same way his father used to.
It’s these reasons, along with the fact he’s his father’s spitting image, that I love him so much and would do anything to protect him. I might not be his mother but the day I walked in on my best friend, well ex-best friend, Emilia, his mother, trying to drown her son in the bathtub, I took him. He became mine. Or at least he is until I get him to where he belongs.
See, I refused to stand by and allow her to do something horrific to such a precious little boy. She claimed he wouldn’t stop crying and she couldn’t get him to stop and then he’d puked on her. No parent in their right mind does that.
